End Users
For End-Users, mobility implies that content is consumed right at the moment of interest. Anything can prompt a response, delivered instantly, reliably and ultimately in a fun & XSIGHTING way.
The ubiquity of the mobile handset together with Xsights' platform provides the ultimate solution to pull and view multimedia content. It means that for every landmark, street sign, ad or printed article, you can extract additional layers of information. Whether it’s a map coming alive and guiding you around town, a brochure allowing you to compare prices, a wall poster suggesting you can watch a movie trailer or a magazine offering you some coupons - suddenly the whole world is just a cell phone away.
How do I do it?
3G mobile device users will only need to make a local video call or send an MMS to a predetermined short-code number and aim the handset’s camera phone at the Interactive link, wall poster, DVD cover, brochure, magazine, etc'. The printed Interactive link itself can be an icon, a picture, a title, an ad or even a single word in the text. Once your camera phone is aimed at it, Xsights' server receives the captured images, analyzes them and responds with the appropriate interactive multimedia experience offering a menu of choices for you to select from.
The iPhone and BlackBerry both have applications that work the same way as the 3G devices. Once you take a picture of the Interactive link (be it a wall poster, DVD cover, brochure, magazine, etc'), Xsights' server receives the captured images, analyzes them and responds with the appropriate interactive multimedia experience offering a menu of choices for you to select from.
We believe users, when given the ability, will utilize their cellular phone in a new and powerful way. Visual search applications on the mobile device save users time while others supply useful information and some will be fun and simply a way for instant gratification and "infotainment".
How much will it cost me?
3G mobile device users will pay for a video call (or MMS) in accordance with their mobile operator. In some countries a video call costs as much as a regular voice call, and in some countries it costs a bit more.
iPhone and BlackBerry users will pay for the amount of data used and in accordance with their mobile operator.
