Q. What is a link?

Xsights can connect to any static object (be it a printed item, a street sign or a landmark), understand it and transform it to a multimedia experience. When such an object is defined it becomes a link that can be recognized by Xsights.

Q. What objects could be a link?

Any printed matter, be it an image or a word (e.g., newspapers, magazines, books, maps, wall posters, brochures, street signs, etc'), could be a link.

Q. How does it work?

Using your mobile phone camera you can take a picture of a link and instantly you will receive the predefined multimedia interactions. We support 3 way of connections: Video Call (clientless), Application on iPhone, BlackBerry, and selected J2ME handsets, and MMS on all mobile handsets equipped with a camera.

Q. What types of phones are supported?

We support all 3G mobile handsets when connection is used via a video call service. We have a application for iPhone, BlackBerry, and selected J2ME handsets.

Q. Where is Xsights' service available?

We have deployed our service in United Kingdom and the United States. We are planning on providing our service in additional countries shortly.

Q. Where can I find interactive links to try the service?

Links can appear everywhere - on newspapers, magazines, books, CD covers, maps, labels, wall posters, catalogues, brochures, etc.

Q. Does it cost money to use our service?

There are no charges to install our application. Using the application will be based on the regular data package you received from your mobile operator. Same goes for the MMS - charges are based on your agreement with your local mobile operator or service provided. Video Calls - charges are based on your local mobile operator (in some countries a video call cost the same as a regular call).

Q. How do I get started?

The easiest way to get started is to download our free application from our site and use it on an available link. Make sure that our service is active in your location.

Q. Where can I get additional information?

Please send us your question to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and we will see that someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

Q. The application returned "No Match" for an image in a magazine. What could be the reason?

In order for an image to become an active link, it has to be Xsights enabled by the service provider (publisher, content owner, advertiser, etc.). If you are connected using WiFi, please check your WiFi access point. It may require a login or registration before providing Internet access.

Q. I took a picture in the application but for some reason it failed to send. Can I save the image and resend it later when I have connectivity?

Yes, if your picture failed to be sent, the application automatically saves it and stores it in the Linkit (saved images) list. You can select the Linkit menu item, choose the saved image and "Resend" the picture.

Q. How can I get to the application's settings?

The application operational settings can be access from within the application. The advanced application settings can be accessed from your iPhone's home screen, click on 'Settings', scroll down to find XSIghts, and click on it to open the application settings.
